UPDATES

12-24-02

This is the first update of things going on in my life. It is Christmas eve and unfortunately I was not able to go home to Alaska to see my family. It was a major bummer, but I hope to change that for years to come.

The New Year is approaching quickly and I find myself in new territory. My largest resolution for the New Year is to begin to build long lasting relationships with some new people.

I am on a plan to bring some new and positive changes to my life and truly begin to achieve and accomplish what I have always wanted, not only in my business life, but in my personal life as well. Although my business life has and probably will dictate a large portion of what I can do in my personal life, I am now in a position where I have control over the situation and plan to focus steadily on building Uniguest so I can enjoy my personal life to the fullest.

If I do not communicate with you very much over the next few months, please be patient. I HAVE to remain focused on my tasks and fulfill the promises I am making to myself, my business, my clients, my family, and last but certainly not least, GOD.

So until we speak again and see each other again, GOD BLESS!

Happy New Year!

Well, the start of this has certainly been lively. First business: Business is picking up here in Memphis. This week, sales have started coming to fruition and Friday marked the start of a great year with four new hotel contracts and 5 new advertisers. We are now at 20 hotel contracts. All we need is 5 more to complete our goal in Memphis. Slower than planned, but at least the goal was met, right? Focus will now be on straight advertising sales and I am looking to hire a sales person and begin hitting the pavement. I'll keep you updated.

On the personal side, things have been both good and bad. I am single again and having to rebuild many new and existing relationships. Balancing a good relationship and my business life has been a challenge but those of you that are reading this probably know me pretty well. I am open to your suggestions on how to work the two. The good news is I am finding that there are still single girls here in Memphis. It is a major bummer to have to start over again. I will try and make the best of it though and keep everyone posted of the goings on in the world of Shawn's dating life. Fun fun, huh? Hey, I won money at the casino, that has to be a good omen, right?

Well, I am signing off. Keep in touch with me and I will chat soon.

Wow, is this year turning out to be a busy one. Where do I start? Business is going well, yet stressful due to my having to keep so involved with R&D that no one is out selling. I need a sales rep terribly. If you know of anyone, please call me.

Personal life is going well. Have met some nice people and feel like I am finally expanding my horizons of starting new friendships. Balancing that business life and personal life is still a challenge, but I am trying and I know that the right person will fit into my world and vice versa. For those of you signing my guest log, I appreciate it. I thank you for the nice comments. It means alot to me. Keep sending more and more if you want. (-8

Well, nothing major to announce, but wanted to give an update. See ya next time!

Well, it is time for an update isn't it? Sorry it has taken me so long. Let's see:

Work first. Work is going absolutely great! Uniguest, www.uniguest.com, is really starting to skyrocket. We are doing business with some incredible hotels and we now have customers in California, Texas, and even New York. Look to us in the future with some great press releases. I still need a great sales rep if someone knows someone. Enough about work.

Personal? Well, still single unfortunately, but looking. I have met some very nice people and who knows where life is going to take me. Being in Memphis is still a little struggle, but I am making do. I have been putting alot of time in my house. I am preparing to sell it just in case something happens and I get to move. I am really thinking Nashville, but slim chance for Florida or Texas. I need more sunshine. As you will see from my photo section, I recently took a trip to Manzanillo Mexico with my dad. We had a great time. It was just what the doctor ordered. We had some awesome authentic Mexican food and we were the gringos from the U.S. We had some phenomenal meals and got some serious sunshine. We have already started to plan for a trip back there in November. Watch out senoritas! LOL

Volleyball season is about to start up. We will begin playing outside very soon and Shawn needs to lose some inches. I know, I don't need to, but I really do. All that Mexican food did not help.

That is about it for now. I will try and update more often. Be sure to let me know if you would like to receive an email when I update the site. I'll be sure to let you know. For those of you that know me, know that I don't send alot of blanket emails to everyone. I hope you like that.

Anyway, I love you all and talk to you soon!

Hello, hello, hello!

Man is this year flying by. There is alot of new news so here we go.

Personal first this time. Shawn is getting back in shape. I lost the weight I gained on vacation and a little bit more. Boy does it feel good to start feeling in shape again. It is amazing how much you forget how good you feel when you are working out and eating right. It is long overdue. May and June are going to be very strict months for working out so I can look and feel my best at the beach. I have been playing quite a bit of volleyball. Some new friends and some good games. I cannot complain. I have started to work on my house to sell it this summer. I have finally redone all my landscaping and it is going to look good when it is finally finished. This house has alot of memories in it. It will be good to move, but I will miss it.

Now to work, which always affects my personal life as we all know. I may be moving to Nashville. There is a possible business transition coming on that could be very good for both Uniguest and me. This year has been a stellar year and it has been long overdue. We are now providing service to hotels in California, Texas, Virginia, Illinois, Iowa, Mississippi, and Colorado. Things have been just phenomenal. It is going to make the possible transition a very difficult decision. I was hoping at this juncture in my life to be making a decision for more than just myself, but I am hoping GOD is going to change that area of my life and really bring that someone special into the picture if they are not already there. I have some very special new people in my life and it will be hard to say goodbye if it comes to that. But those that know me know I can move on with the best of them and survive. I think this time will be different though. This will be a life decision and it will get much thought. Thanks to those of you I have spoken with about this. Your input is greatly appreciated and I will keep you updated as things progress.

I have also finally found my advertising sales executive. Yea! Debbie has been selling advertising in Memphis for 12 years and I think it is going to be an awesome relationship. She is very nice and I feel she will do a great job! Wish us luck!

Well, that is all for now. I am sure I will be updating very soon as things move forward. Thanks for my close friends who continually support me in my life. You know who you are and you know I am always there for you.

Love always,

SHAWN

What's up What's up?

Happy Birthday to me! Thanks to all my good friends who wished me a Happy Birthday and for the birthday Benihana trip. That is my Birthday meal every year!

Wow! I cannot believe I am 33 and still feel like I am 21 in many ways. But.... I have very much begun to see the differences in myself as I mature. I begin to see that a few months can bring many changes and a few years can feel like a few days.

Okay, work or personal first this time? Hmmmmmmmm......

Okay personal. I am still working on preparing my house for sale. I am still not sure if I am going to be moving out of Memphis or staying in Memphis yet. I hope to know within the next 60-90 days. There are a few major deciding factors that will contribute to this decision and some could affect the rest of my life. I am ready for a decision like this and GOD is certainly helping me in many ways. I have done pretty well with working out although when I travel on the weekends, it makes it very difficult. I am working on dedicating more to it so I can accomplish my goal. I should take a before and after picture, huh? Let me know if you think I should.

Okay... work. Work is going very well. June should wrap up the biggest month of sales in Uniguest history. The rest of the summer is looking very prosperous as well. Debbie, my sales manager is working diligently to sell advertising and looks like it is going to be doing well soon. June could be an even better month that I anticipated. We'll see!

That is about it for now. Thanks to everyone for signing the guest book. Please let me know if you want an email telling you when I update the site. I do not want to send blanket emails to people that don't want them.

For those of you a part of my daily life, thank you for your support and love, it means a lot to me.

Wow! I am going to have to hire a web designer soon to help me with this update section. It is getting long. LOL.

Well, life is certainly interesting these days. What would you like to know this time? Lots have been going on.

Personal: I have been playing quite a bit of volleyball and getting in shape again. The tan is happening and it reminds me of how much I love summer time. We went to the casinos last Friday and it was another stellar night. Within 15 minutes of walking in the door, I got us comped dinners and a comped room. That is what I am talking about. Then I just happened to proceed to kick some tail at craps, my favorite game, and it turned out to be a great night. The next day, I went shopping (with some of my earnings) and just racked up at the GAP outlet store. Shawn's closet is FULL! Now I just need to find someone to share all these fun times with. Are there any brokerage services for Shawn's deal mate out there? LOL Yes, I am still single, but looking. There are some prospects, but we'll see what transpires. I am confident GOD will throw me the right person pretty soon. I just have a feeling.

Work is going well. I am going to save details on work this time because some changes could be coming soon for the better. It may mean different scenery for my life and we'll just have to see. Things are going very well though.

Well... until next time, keep in touch and DONT FORGET TO SIGN MY GUEST BOOK AND LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10-30-2003

Sorry it has been so long since my last confession, but things have been up in the air and I wanted to wait before I wrote again. So here goes:

Work and personal will be co-mingled this time.

I am putting my house up for sale in November and depending on a few work related issues, it looks like if my house can sell within 60 days, I will be moving in early 2004. The destination is yet to be known, but I have a few places I am looking at right now. To be honest, alot of it could depend on meeting the right person or people and giving me a great reason during the next few months. As all of you that know me know, my work can be done anywhere and that is what allows me to be free and go where I want when I want. I would like this time to be somewhere I can build something spectacular and hopefully share it with someone. We'll see about that one.

Life is going well and congrats to my little ol' company Uniguest as we just got a contract for 20 additional hotels by the end of they year. They are spread out all over the country. I am SOOOOO excited. This will finally put us on the map. With the additional hotels I have secured, this will give us approx 50 hotel contracts. All in one year. Not bad if I say so myself. I hope to have more exciting news in the next few weeks that will really shake things up. Say some prayers!

Well, that is about it for now. I guess I should tell you that my house got broke in and it was a major nuisance, but you know I am not one to complain or whine about things. I have moved on from it and stayed focused on the positive things in my life right now. Thanks to those of you that called and gave me support. You know I love you very much!

So, take care and until next time,

Big Daddy

06-07-2005

Well now: That was a nice long break. I am finally back to life. LOL Ok, I have received enough complaints in my guest log for updates so here goes.

Personal: I have FINALLY moved from Memphis. Yes, I know I was threatening for a long time and I finally did it. I am now officially living in Nashvegas, TN. Why Nashville? Well, I have been coming to Nashville for a few years for business and to play volleyball and I went into business with someone (see business part) and so it got me to Nashville and out of Memphis. I have made quite a bit of new friends and really like it. I really feel like this is a new phase of my life and I am excited. I am starting over in the relationship department, but I feel very good about it. I really think this could be the start of a great new venture. I'll keep you posted.

Bummer stuff: Both my cats ran away before I moved to Nashville. Those of you that knew me knew they were a huge part of my life as I love animals. And they were the BEST cats in the world. )-: I am going to wait until I buy a house to get more pets. I am traveling alot for work and it is too difficult to give them enough attention so I'll wait. patiently.

Business:  I have to say that things have finally come full circle for Uniguest. We are doing well. I have sold 51% of Uniguest to Mark Oldham, a guy I have been doing business with for a couple of years. Things seem to be going well and I have moved Uniguest to Nashville. I still work from the house mostly, but it is nice to have an office with people interaction as well.

Uniguest was just awarded the first hotel mandated contract of its kind with The Embassy Suites brand of hotels. By sometime in 2006, every Embassy Suites in the U.S. will have our systems!!! Awesome. It has opened up many doors and we expect some big things this year. Keep your fingers crossed. All the hard work is paying off. I'll keep you posted with more in the future.

We are now servicing more than 200 hotels across the country, Canada, and Puerto Rico. We hope to get to 500 by year end. It means a lot of travel for me, but I kind of like that. So far this year I have been to Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Charleston, Tampa, and Atlanta. In the next 45 days I am going to Puerto Rico, San Fran again, NY, and Southern California. Fun Fun I need a travel companion. LOL

Well that's all for now. More for later. Look for new pics real soon!!!

10-10-2005

Quick update: I have moved to Green Hills in Nashville. Nice area and I am glad to be in an area better suited to my tastes. Lots of shopping to come for my townhouse. LOL I hope to meet some people in this area and continue to have a great time.

Played in a volleyball tournament in Destin, Fl a few weeks ago. We got second place and should have got first, but there were some sandbaggers. Jerks. But it was a freakin incredible time. My roomies, you know who you are, were an absolute blast. Spring trip is already booked. CANNOT WAIT!!!

That's it for now. If this is your first time to the site, comment in the guest book!!!!!!

1-23-2006

Another Quick update: Happy New Year to all. 2005 was a very successful year in that Uniguest is growing as a company and I am truly loving living in Nashville. I have established some good relationships both in business and in my personal life and I look forward to a very rewarding 2006.

Personal: I am still single and I really think 2006 might move forward Shawn moving to change that status. It is just a feeling, but we'll see. I really feel like God has something in store for me this year. I'll keep you posted on that. I am SOOO ready for volleyball season and summer. I am getting Lasik this week (hopefully) and that should be good for volleyball so I don't get sand in my contacts. LOL. Watch out Destin. I'll be ready.

Business: Well, Uniguest is growing pretty quickly. We are installed in over 325 hotels throughout the country and are about to announce another large contract. The hardest part about growing is finding good employees. Never realized how hard that would be. But I am learning. I am having to work some serious hours to keep up on quality and be sure things are running smooth. I am glad I love what I do. I'll post some new developments soon. You can see more at www.uniguest.com though.

Well, signing off for now. I'll have more pics soon. (-:

3-5-2006

2006 is certainly proving to be a year of moving forward. Life definitely moves in strange directions and I thank GOD that the last couple of years are actually proving to be worth while.

Work has seen some incredible growth the last 12 months and Uniguest now has 5 employees and will be adding another. To those that have never worked at a small company, it is a lot to add new employees. And I have been fortunate to be surrounded with people that care about Uniguest. In the next few weeks I hope to be able to announce to the public that Uniguest has been awarded a new major contract with an extremely large hotel chain. We are very excited.

On the personal front, I have begun my work out regiment to get ready for a spring volleyball tournament, but even more so, start to accomplish some goals that need to be achieved. I have met some great people and look forward to continuing those relationships. Let's hope work can give me the time. It will be CRAZY busy the next 8 months.

Please be patient as usual if I can't go out much. I have much going on right now. I'll be out some time though. (-:
